Nicholas Meador, Founder & Technician

2008

Cornerstone Mobile Auto Repair was founded in 2008 with a passion for getting people back on the road without the high overhead costs of auto shops and dealerships. We've seen what the companies charge and on top of the towing costs, a vehicle that needs immediate auto repair can put a big financial strain on a person's budget.

We wanted to provide an alternative service that was more convenient but highly professional with great value. Ours is a relationship-based company and we take pride in the numerous referrals and repeat-business from our customers. We are grateful for all the terrific reviews on all the major search and review engines and strive to make every diagnostic and auto repair experience a satisfying one.

EXTENSIVE MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE

I started out of high school working as a mechanic on engines and hydraulics for John Deere in Kansas.

Working as a mechanic at the local airport, I maintained single- and twin-engine aircraft.

At Chaparral, which built custom aluminum drop-decks, flat beds and cattle trailers, I in the service department and maintained and repaired semi-trailers, including restoring and rebuilding wrecked or older trailers.

In California, I worked on 100'+ ft motor yachts at Marina del Rey, maintaining diesel engines, installing hydraulic roll stabilization systems controlled by a gyro system, and installed freshwater filtration and UV systems.

In Utah, I worked as a mechanic for a large ski resort, maintaining various vehicles and equipment to run a resort, such as snow groomers, pickup trucks, front-end loaders, chain saws, snow blowers and more.

In Texas, I worked for Fleet Maintenance as a mechanic repairing semi-trucks, semi-trailers, motor coaches, RVs and food trucks.

...and in 2008, you know the rest.

JEEPS, PLANES AND BOATS

In my "downtime"--in addition to spending time with my son--I am an active member of LJ Nation and enjoy 4-wheeling and building several of my own custom Jeeps. I extend my love of all things mechanical in building and piloting AC aircraft. And as a member of the Austin Yacht Club, I serve as a racing deckhand and a volunteer for many of the club activities and events.
